The Justification for War

The Taliban blew up another girls’ school in Pakistan this week. One of hundreds in the last 6 months.
If we allow this government to exist they will not allow females to be educated.
I consider myself something of a lefty peace advocate, but I find the morality of the far left to be lacking when they oppose war in every situation other than self defense.
I suppose the question is, at what point do we defend humanity?

Coming from a long line of pacifists, and considering myself one as well, this is a really tough topic for me. Is expedience justified? Are there certain situations where violence is the only answer (theoretically, because of the people you are dealing with)?
“My President” is escalating the previous administration’s war (or is he trying to fix it?)… but I can’t say that I’m just *flat out* opposed to what he’s doing. I assume, as well, that he has more information than what the general public is privy to, and I assume that influences his decisions.
It’s definitely a crappy situation, but I’m not sure that just “giving up” is the answer. That said, how many more lives will be lost in this mess?
Ugh.
